Sperm whale endangerment
By: Ann E. Sheppard
The sperm whale is now endangered in North Carolina. During the whaling era many of the sperm whales were dying because of the oils that the whales have. After the whaling era there was only about 200,000 sperm whales left. Now a days not many people hunt for whales but many do die accidentally.

The main reason for sperm whale deaths todasy are fishers whose nets are holding onto the whale. When this happens the whales parts rip and cause the whales not able to swim and they soon die. Another reason for sperm whale death is ships hitting the whale.
